This was a very well presented, modern and extremely clean hotel.
Its free to use the swimming pool (seasonal as outside and very shallow), also free are the steam room, sauna and amazing 8 seater jacuzzi. (sunbed is 3.21euro for the electric)

Would recomend an amazing fish restaurant by porto olympico, "La Fonda". It cost about £40 a head for a 2 course meal, drinks, wine and tip. If you like football then its only 25 minutes by the underground or 15 minutes by taxi to the Neu Camp, we saw Barcelona play Real Bettis in front of 75,000 and the stadium was only 3/4 full! The sangrada familia unfinished cathedral has so much history and is also easily accessed by the metro, by the way, a single ticket to antywhere on the metro is 1euro 30c, about a £1. As per previous feedback, the only thing missing from the bedroom was a lock on the bathroom/toilet door!

Hotel and staff excellent in fact staff were very helpful and all spoke excellent english. Location was OK if you are prepared to walk for half an hour to find somewhere else to eat - although food in the hotel was of a very good standard if a little limited and very reasonably priced as was the bar - recommend them both.

Bring good walking shoes - this means you get to see more of Barcelona!!!!

food was very good. staff very friendly and helpful (I had my wallet stolen and they were very kind and considerate, advice on which police station to go etc) Room was excellent, nice clean bathroom, very quiet and peaceful. The only disappointment was a vey small outdoor pool on the second floor.

take a very comfy pair of shoes if you intend to walk to La Rambla, its a good 15 minute walk.
There seemed to be a large amount of gay bars in this area so not sure if that is typical of Barca or just that we'd landed in the middle of a gay bar zone??? I had my wallet stolen on the metro - I'm usually so careful with this sort of thing, take nothing for granted and be vigilant!
Apparently Barca is terrible for pickpockets and muggings, I spend 2 hours at the police station reporting this, they have an entire station set up for nothing else!
However, this did not detract from our time here too much.
Will recommend the Taxidermista restauarant in the square just off La Rambla, as the name suggests lots of erd meat on the menu, the Fillet steak was superb. We asked for a Sambuca to finishe the evening and were presented with tumblers that were half full! (Hic).
The beaches are excellent, good facilities and plenty of local stored and cashpoints nearby.
The port and harbour areas are also excellent, not so crowded and very modern.

The hotel was located in a very good position without being in too busy an area it was a fairly easy walking distance (15-20minutes) to the main street of Las Ramblas. There is also a Metro station nearby. The hotel itself gave an excellent service with nice friendly helpful staff. The rooms were furnished to a very good standard.

We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and in Barcelona there is plenty to see and do with the added advantages of nice beaches located within a couple of metro stops and short walk. We would recommend buying metro pass as this is an excellent way of getting around the city. Our one word of warning would be beware of pick pockets espically in the busy areas we had 2 incidents (nothing taken) and we heard of 3 others. But this aside we had a great time and would not hesitate to recommend it for the variety all in one place. Finally we found two nice local inexpensive restaraunts near the hotel KYVIC Villarroel,88 & SAZZERAK C/ Consejo de Ciento, 211 both within 5 minutes walking of the hotel as alternative place to eat.

The hotel was a bit far off the beaten track than what I had expected, but still great!

Must do the bus tours, really good way to see the sights and learn the geography of the place. Really lovely outdoor bar in Placa De La Rei, with stunning architectural scenery.

fantastic hotel in a quiet part of the city. One request would be to have plug sockets near mirrors and to make sure prices of minibar is correct as we were charged more than what was stated on price list.
Top Tip
visit La Rambla is a definite must and use tour buses to see sights that are far away from centre. Be careful at night and watch belongings due to pickpocketers.
